Bobby Lee Barnes, 90, was welcomed into heaven to be with his Lord and Savior on January 12, 2020 in Bethany, OK. He was born October 22, 1929 in OKC to Barney and Delone (Gregory) Barnes. Bobby was the Police Chief at the Warr Acres Police Dept. from 1957-1960. He then went to work for AT&T as a security guard until his retirement. He was a member of the Telephone Pioneers, enjoyed woodworking, volunteered for the Salvation Army, and was very active with the P.C. Schools museum. He was a 1949 graduate of Putnam City High School. He belonged to the 196th RCT – South Dakota and participated in reunions with that group. He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army serving in the Korean Conflict.

He married Bettie Brittain on February 18, 1955 at Bethany First Church of the Nazarene. He is survived by his loving wife of almost 65 years, Bettie; sons, Rick Barnes and wife Pam, Mike Barnes and wife Donetta; grandchildren, Melodie Bucher and husband Bryan, and Joseph Barnes; great-grandchildren, Austin, David and William Bucher. He was preceded in death by his parents, and half-brother, James E. Barnes.

Visitation will be Saturday, January 18, 2:00pm at Metroplex Church of the Nazarene with service to follow at 3:00pm. Interment will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
