Brandon Scott Housley, 25, of Agency, died January 4, 2020 at Ottumwa Regional Health Center.

He was born August 16, 1994 in Ottumwa to Scott Wayne and Teri Jo Short Housley.

Brandon had attended North Polk schools, graduating from Ottumwa High School in 2013, and for the past 5 years had been a hydrant assembler at Clow Valve in Oskaloosa.

Brandon's favorite hobby was racing and at 8 years old, raced as a junior dragster. He raced on many tracks including Eldon and Eddyville and was a Sport Compact Champion in 2017 at the Eldon Raceway and in 2018 at the Southern Iowa Speedway. He also loved working with his friends and grandpa Mike in his garage. Most importantly, Brandon loved spending time with his son, Garison.

Surviving is his fiancé, Cheyenne Phillips of Agency; son Garison Eugene Housley of Agency; parents, Teri (Daniel) Coady, of Cedar Rapids, and Scott Housley of Phoenix, AZ; grandparents, Gary and Tina Housley of Phoenix, AZ, and Mike and Peggy Short of Ottumwa; Cheyenne's mother, Linda Heston of Agency; 2 sisters, Kylie (Matt) Moore of Ottumwa, and Tori Housley (Max Wessels) of Cedar Rapids; half-sister, Mackenzie Wayne of Moline, IL; and sister-in-law, Kristina Swanson (Sam Kron) of Iowa City; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by Cheyenne's father, Gary Phillips; grandparents, Teresa "Betty" and Larry Nine and uncle Brian Housley.

Funeral Services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Reece Funeral Home, Pastor Randy Saylor officiating. Cremation will follow the service. Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. Wednesday with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday. Memorials may be made to the family for his son, Garison.
