Corey Patrick James "Doodles" Stephens, 4, of Oakland went to be one of God's angels on Thursday, August 4, 2016. Born on June 15, 2012 in Oakland, he was the precious son of Andrew James "AJ" Stephens and Britany McDaniel. He had attended Head Start and was a member of Miss Kathy's class. Corey was a loving child who was very protective and caring of his little sister. He loved hunting, fishing and training for fights with his Dad and taking tractor rides. Though his life was short, Corey has left a lasting impression on those who knew and loved him. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his little sister, Rayslee Stephens; paternal grandparents, Stephanie (Lewis) Stephens and companion Tim Sines, and Bradley Stephens; maternal grandparents, Tonya (Corby) and Noah McDaniel; paternal great grandparents, Andrew A., Sr. and Shirley Lewis, and Erma Stephens; maternal great grandparents, Doug and Betty Corby, and Jean McDaniel; maternal great great grandmother, Marilyn Corby; paternal uncle, Nathan Stephens and wife Lacie (Schroyer) Stephens; maternal uncle, Patrick McDaniel and wife Nikki McDaniel; cousins, Nathan Stephens, Jr., Natalie Stephens, Baily McDaniel and Lacie McDaniel; and numerous great aunts, great uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his paternal great grandfather, James Stephens and maternal great grandfather, Robert McDaniel. Friends will be received at the C & S Fredlock Funeral Home, P.A., 21 N 2nd St., Oakland on Sunday, August 7th from 1 to 5 PM. A funeral service will be held in the Pine Grove Church of the Brethren, 9752 Oakland Sang Run Rd., Oakland on Monday, August 8th at 11 AM with Pastor Gary Clem officiating. Interment will follow in the Lewis Family Cemetery.
