Gary Don Spencer, 75 of Plainview died Sunday, January 12, 2020 at Arkansas Hospice in Russellville.
The son of Mack and Effie Spencer, he was born on August 1, 1944 in Dunbar, Oklahoma.
He married Linda Cunningham on May 17, 1968 in Plainview. He was a self-employed farmer of 40 years on Kingston Farms. He was a former school board member at Plainview-Rover School District for 15 years and a member of the Quorum Court in Yell County for several years. Gary had worked for the Corps of Engineers, former co-owner of the River Valley Sale Barn, and on the Salem Cemetery committee for many years.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Odessa Cox.
Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Linda Spencer; two sons, David Spencer of Plainview, Todd Spencer (Heather Spencer) of Danville; sister, Lucille Hooser (John A. Hoover), Pauline Elliott; a brother, Tommy Joe Spencer (Deloris); 5 grandchildren, Katelyn and Nathane Hodges, Cameron and Elizabeth Spencer, Lauren Spencer, Meghan and Samuel Gillespie, Sophie Spencer; and one great-grandchild, Huxley Hodges; adoptive son, Roy Treadwell; mother-in-law, Mildred Cunningham; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Arkansas Hospice River Valley Home, 220 John Babish Lane, Russellville, Arkansas 72810.
Memorial services will be Tuesday, January 14th at 2:00 p.m. at the Plainview Church of Christ.
