Vernon White Body (Many Hawk) “ixdada’gi Ahush”, 75, of New Town, formerly of Fort Worth, Texas, died Tuesday, January 7, 2020 in a Minot hospital. Vernon was born on April 14, 1944 in Elbowoods to John Sr. and Mamie (Wells) White Body. He was raised in Elbowoods until the family moved to the Spanish area. He attended New Town Public Schools and graduated from New Town High School. Vernon then moved to Fort Worth, Texas and attended ITT Technical Institute where he studied television repair. On January 28, 1980 he was united in marriage to Patty Marlene Bross, to this union his daughter Christa was born. They made their home in Fort Worth where he was employed with RCA until 1989. He then started his own television repair business, called CMV Repair, which he operated out of his home. Following Marlene’s death on January 5, 2013 Vernon returned to New Town and lived at the Lakeside Community Living Center before recently residing at Trinity Homes in Minot. Throughout his life, Vernon was interested in Guns, Cars, Star Wars and Sci-Fi Movies and Taekwondo. He was an avid Elvis Presley fan and loved listening to his music. He cheered for the Dallas Cowboys and loved his dogs. Most of all, Vernon cherished spending time with his family.



Vernon is survived by his daughter, Christa Lee (Jennifer) of Tucson, AZ; granddaughter, Laura Rieck; sisters, Jane W. Church and Tena White Body; pet dog, Sasha and pet grand-dog, Nixie; and several nieces, nephews and extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Marlene; brothers, Sidney, Timothy, Wayne and John Jr.; sisters, Mary White Body, Violet Plenty Chief, Colleen White Body and Izora Giese; maternal grandparents, Ralph Wells Sr and Red Eye and paternal grandparents, Tom White Body and Hunts to Dig.
