FRANCES BLAINE (BALLARD) BLACKBURN ~ (17 June 1920~18 February 1990)

She is the daughter of the late Elgie Howard Ballard and Edith Mae Ballard.

She was a lifelong resident of Raleigh County; a member of the United Methodist Church at Sophia; a treasurer for United Methodist Women for 23 years; and was a postal clerk for the Sophia Post Office for 26 years.

Survivors, her husband, Jewell (Nick) Blackburn; son, Richard Blackburn; two sisters, Kewpie Smith (husband Woodrow) and Ramona Hatfield; half-sister, Drema Crippen; two half-brothers, Lannie Ballard and Larry Ballard; and a grandson, Michael Blackburn.

Services at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 20, 1990, at Tankersly Funeral Home Chapel at Sophia, with the Revs. Robert Henson, George Clay, and Kenneth Overdorf officiating.

Burial in Sunset Memorial Park, Beckley.
