It is with great sadness that the family of Donna Jenkins announce her passing.

Donna Jenkins, 67, of Palestine, IL died at 3:56 p.m. on Saturday, January 11, 2020, at her home surrounded by her family. Donna was born on December 6, 1952, in Flat Rock, the daughter of Roy and Virginia Decker, both of whom preceded her in death. She married Michael Jenkins on September 9, 1980.

Donna was preceded in death by her parents; by her sister, Lori Decker; her brother-in-law, Edward Dhom; and by her sister-in-law, Ann Decker.

She is survived by her husband, Michael Jenkins; her children, Marcus Jenkins and his wife Sarah, Matthew Jenkins and his wife Laura, Troy Jenkins, and Kristy Jenkins; as well as her grandchildren, Lane, Mikah, Kealie, Mason, Eternity, Piper, Kieran, Kaitlyn, Rylie, Bryden, and Kendall. Donna was a godmother to Heather Hartleroad, and a second mother to many. Donna's surviving siblings include Jerry Decker, Teresa Davidson, and Randy Decker, as well as her sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Judy (Jenkins) Dhom, Nancy Jenkins, Kevin Jenkins, and Ronald Jenkins.

Donna grew up in the Flat Rock area and was a 1970 graduate of Robinson High School. She would work for Briggs Pottery and Ramsey's News Agency for a time before deciding to change course to pursue nursing. After earning her associate degree from Lincoln Trail College, she worked as an RN at the Robinson Correctional Center and Wabash Valley Correctional Facility before getting on staff at Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes, where she would eventually retire.

If you knew her, then you knew Donna as a mother to all, a caring wife, and someone always eager for the chance to laugh. She was always looking forward to seeing those she cared about and welcoming new people into her home. She loved camping and fishing and was proud of the beautiful flowers and landscaping projects that her and Michael spent time together planning and planting. She enjoyed watching the Boston Celtics and shooting pool with her family and friends. She loved hummingbirds, and would sit outside, even before sunrise to watch them. If you ever met Donna, then you never forgot her.

In keeping with Donna's wishes, there will be no memorial services. The Goodwine Funeral Home in Palestine is in charge of services.
