Dorothy Mae Sutton Bowden of the Mount Olive area, passed away Friday night, January 10, 2020 at Wayne Memorial Hospital. She was 77 years of age.

She was a long time employee of both Burlington Industries and Smitty's Tastee Freeze, and for a short while, the Mount Olive Piggly Wiggly. She worshipped her Lord at Goldsboro Worship Center.

Funeral services will be Monday, January 13, at 6 p.m. at Tyndall Funeral Home with the Rev. Danny Johnson and the Rev. Travis Smith officiating, followed by a time of visitation. Burial will be Tuesday, January 14, at 2:30 p.m. at Wayne Memorial Park.

Ms. Bowden is survived by her fiance of more than 40 years, George Hall of Mount Olive; her daughters, Dorothy Ann Lee of Mount Olive, Kim Darragh with husband, Gordon, of Greenville, and Kathy Chestnut of Mount Olive; another "daughter," Barbara Newsome with husband, Dickie, of Dudley; seven grandchildren and spouses, Amanda and Luis Torres, Renee and Jason Farmer, Jessica and Smiley Manzanares, Stephanie and Todd Warner, Michael Lee, Jr. and Katherine Lee, Kevin Lee, and Megan Lee; eight great-grandchildren; and her twin sister, Shirley Faye Carter of Goldsboro.

She was preceded in death by her son, Robert Monroe "Bo" Bowden, Jr.; her parents, Raymond Sutton and Glennie Bell Britt Sutton; a sister, Shelva Jean Daughtry; and a brother, Robert "Bobby" Sutton.

She was a loving mother, grandmother, and friend, and will be dearly missed.
