BAXTER-Services for Janie Lee Brown, 82 of Baxter, Tennessee, will be conducted on Wednesday, January 15 at Baxter Chapel of Hooper Huddleston Horner Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Double Springs Cemetery. Bro. Vince Whipp and Bro. Larry Vaught will officiate. Mrs. Brown passed from this life Saturday, January 11, 2020 in NHC Healthcare of Cookeville. She was born March 7, 1937 in Smith County to the late Jessie Leon Bush and Georgia Verda Scarlett Bush. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Freeman Brown on October 1, 2009, and a brother Bobby Bush.
She was a graduate of Baxter Seminary. She was a retired assembler with Fleetguard/Cummins Filtration with 33 years of service. She enjoyed reading, working in her flower garden, music of all kinds, especially old country and bluegrass. Survivors include daughter and son-in-law Myra and Daryl Phillips of White County, son and daughter-in-law Michael Freeman and Rita Brown of Putnam County, grandson Michael Freeman, Jr. of Franklin, step grandson Eric Phillips of Texas, brother Jerry Bush of White County, several nieces and nephews. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Baxter Chapel of Hooper Huddleston Horner Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
