Mrs. Ruth Nickerson Curtis age 73 of Raven Lane Murphy passed away peacefully on Saturday January 11, 2020 in the Erlanger Western Carolina Medical Center following an extended illness. Mrs. Curtis was born on June 7, 1946 in Belfast, ME., the daughter of the late Kenneth Nickerson and the late Alice Reynolds Nickerson. Ruth had made her home in Murphy for the past ten years. She loved reading, bowling, playing bingo and watching games shows on T.V. Ruth was a loving and caring mother, sister, grandmother and great grandmother. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James Curtis in 2011. Ruth was of the Christian faith.
As per Ruth’s wishes, no services are planned. In lieu of flowers if you wish, the family requests that donations may be made to the St. Jude’s Hospital in Ruth’s memory.
