Mrs. Frank Sears.

The body of Mrs. Frank Sears, who died at Holly, Colorado, Thursday August 15, 1912, was brought to LaHarpe for burial. The funeral services were held at the home of her uncle Darius Alton, Sunday Elder E. A. Jordan officiating.

Evelyn Grace Conkey, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Alf Conkey, of New London, Iowa, was born in Durham township July 21, 1876. She grew to womanhood in this vicinity and on March 5, 1895 married Frank sears, who survives her together with two sons, Estes and Harrold, aged 11 and 15 years respectively. Soon after their marriage Mr. and Mrs. Sears removed to New London, Iowa, and for the last five years had been residents of Holly, Colorado, where her death occurred. She was in her 37th year and heart trouble is given as the cause of death.

Besides the husband and children she leaves the parents, four sisters Mrs. Flossie Christianson, of Burlington; Mrs. Ethel Elkins, of Keeling, Colo., Mrs. Winnie Vind, of Centerville, Iowa, and Miss Bertha Conkey, of New London, also two brothers, Ray of Burlington and Louis, of New London.

At the age of 17 years Miss Conkey united with the LaHarpe Christian church and continued a strong supporter of the faith in later years. She still held membership in the local church when death claimed her.
