She was born on May 17, 1943 in Winston-Salem, NC to Harry and Esther Lund. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased in death by her husband, James S. "Mitch" Mitchell.
She is survived by one son, Rob Mitchell and wife Jan of Concord, NC; one daughter, Francine Mitchell Skinner and husband Todd of Wilmington, NC; two grandchildren, Samantha Mitchell and Harrison Skinner; one sister, Deanna Kozlow and husband Perry of Manalapan, NJ; a beloved aunt, Polly Liss of Auburn, VA along with several in-laws, cousins, nieces and nephews. She graduated from RJ Reynolds High School in Winston-Salem and attended Kings Business College in Charlotte, NC. She was a retired Administrative Assistant with Maersk Sealand in Charlotte, NC. She loved her family who were very important to her. She was always there to help anyone at anytime. She loved to dance, riding the Harley with Mitch, being at the beach, cruising around in her convertible, lunching and laughing with her friends and spending time with her grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday, January 13, 2020 at Mt. Sinai Cemetery, 3605 Utica Street, in Winston-Salem, NC. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Lower Cape Fear Hospice, 1414 Physicians Drive, Wilmington, NC 28401, American Heart Association, 7272 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, TX 75231 or Alzheimer's Association, 225 North Michigan Avenue, Floor 17, Chicago, IL 60601.
