Nobel Prize Laureate Scientist. Obtaining an Engineering degree from Bristol University in 1921, he studied mathematics, received his Ph.D. degree from St. John's College, in 1926 and was a Lucasian Professor of Mathematics at Cambridge, in 1932. He began work on the new quantum mechanics, producing a mathematical producing a mathematical which led up to his relativistic theory of the electron. Together with scientist Erwin Schrödinger, he was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1933. His honors include, the Royal Medal, Copley Medal, Max Planck Medal and is a member of the British Order of Merit. He is also a Fellow of the Royal Society, Institute of Physics and American Physical Society.
