Ray Thomas Walker, 83, of Fort Morgan, CO, passed away Tuesday, December 31, at home of natural causes. He was born March 8, 1936 in Denver CO to Carey Walker and Phyllis (Stout) Walker.

He married Virginia Lee Pooley on June 14, 1957 in Denver, CO. They raised 5 children.

Ray served in the Armed Forces of the United States from 1953 to 1956. He worked for Colorado State Highway Department before becoming a Lineman for Public Service Company of Colorado for over 30 years before his retirement.

Ray was involved in the Boy Scouts as leader in his sons’ troop. He coached his sons flag football and daughter’s powder football and softball teams.

He loved to camp and fish with his family. When he retired, he continued to travel with his wife until her death in 2011.

In his later years, his love of the outdoors had him working in his yard and vegetable garden, which brought him great joy and satisfaction.

Ray was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Virginia Walker, brothers, Danny Walker, Edward Henderson, Rocky Henderson and sister, Orchid Fickle., son-in-law, Henderson Weekes

He is survived by his son, Timothy Walker of San Diego CA, son, Michael Walker of Franktown CO, Daughter, Tammi Miller of Mesa AZ, daughter, Michelle Walker of Franktown CO and son, Steven Walker of Westminster CO, daughter-in-law’s, Zahra Walker, Elsa Walker, Audrey Walker, 13 grandkids and 10 great grandkids, many nieces and nephews.

He will be cremated and his ashes spread in the mountains.

You may have left this world behind. But you will never leave our hearts and mind.

We mourn his passing. But celebrate his life.
