Velma was born Sept. 12, 1933, in Muncie, and was employed with the NAACP. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
Velma is survived by her daughter, Deidre Harris; son, Micheal Harris; sister, LaFrance (Fritzie) Williams; brother-in-law, Kenneth Williams; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a host of family and friends.
The family wishes to acknowledge with deep appreciation the many expressions of love, concern and kindness shown them during the passing of their loved one.
