Phillip Wayne Dawson, age 60, of White Bluff passed away on Wednesday, January 8, 2020 at St. Thomas West Hospital in Nashville.

He was born in Dickson County to the late Hershel and Mary Aulidge Dawson on November 4, 1959.

He worked for Tennessee Timber and Lumber as a Truck Driver for many years. Mr. Dawson often attended the Craigfield Free Will Baptist Church.

Phillip loved to spend time in the outdoors fishing and riding horses. He also loved to ride his motorcycle. He enjoyed traveling to attend and participating in pony-pulls. There was nothing he enjoyed more than spending time with his grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Phillip was preceded in death by his brothers, Bobby Dawson, Lonnie Dawson, and Charles Dawson.

Survivors include his loving wife of 38 years, Angela Dotson Dawson; his son, Brandon Dawson (Beverly) of White Bluff; his daughters, Shana Dawson-York of White Bluff and Brittany Dawson (Joey) of Dickson; his brother, Jackie “J.D.” Dawson (Becky) of Charlotte; his sister, Melba Luther (Tommy) of Dickson; his grandchildren, Emma Dawson, Ethan Dawson, Logan York, Madison York, Tatum York, Chelsey Dawson, Jordan Wright and Jullianna “JuJu” Wright; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Funeral services will take place on Monday, January 13, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Taylor Funeral Home with Bro. Tommy Luther and Bro. Dennie Ray Foriest officiating. Entombment will follow in the Dickson County Memorial Gardens Chapel of Prayer Mausoleum. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on the evening of Sunday, January 12 from 5:00 until 8:00 and on Monday from Noon until the time of service.
