Rita McDonald, 61 of Kokomo, passed peacefully at home surrounded by family Tuesday October 15, 2019. Originally from Germany, Rita was born to the late Ludwig and Ottilie Ender.

Rita received her Bachelor's degree in Business while she residing in Germany. She moved to the United States nearly 30 years ago. She began working at Meijer for several years before moving to Kokomo to work at Kokomo High School. She worked in the cafeteria where she enjoyed the kids and keeping them in line!

Rita had many pets in her lifetime; chickens, cats and dogs. She enjoyed all animals, especially the hummingbirds. They would land on her hands and let her sweet talk and pet them. She was a true "hummingbird whisperer"! She gardened, whether it be flowers or fruits and vegetables. Rita made and canned the best salsa and strawberry jam.

Surviving Rita are her son Daniel Albert of Germany, her significant other Kelly Majors, brother Hans (Petra) Ender, and several extended family members and friends.

Those who have passed before her are her parents and grandparents.

A memorial service for Rita will take place Wednesday evening at Ellers Mortuary Webster street at 6pm. Friends and family may gather prior from 5pm to 6pm.
