Samuel David Porter, 72, of Page, WV passed away on January 6, 2020 at Plateau Medical Center in Oak Hill, WV. Mr. Porter was a veteran of the Unites States Army in which he served two years in Vietnam as a combat engineer, thirteen years as a blaster in the coal mines, and retired from maintenance for the city of Sophia. In his spare time he enjoyed watching NASCAR, and fishing.

Mr. Porter was born on May 8, 1947 in Sophia to the late Arthur Porter (Deceased) and Annie Keleska-Porter (Deceased). Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Patty Ann Bagrich-Porter (1954-1992); a son, David William Porter (1972-2016); and a brother, Wesley Porter (Deceased).

He is survived by his aunts, Reva Cooper, Ina Miller, Shirley Seville and Zella Holman; uncles, Charles Porter & wife Mary Jo Porter; and several cousins.

Funeral services will be conducted at Rose and Quesenberry Peace Chapel in Beckley on Thursday, January 16, 2020 at 12:00 PM with Chaplain Paul Bricker officiating. Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens at Prosperity, WV.
