Donna Jean Howland, age 70, of Conroe, Texas went to be with her Lord on Monday, January 6, 2020.

She is at peace now after her long bout with her illness. She is in heaven, getting reacquainted with family and friends that went before her. Although she will be missed, she is rejoicing and having a grand old time.

She was born in Dodge City, Kansas on August 10, 1949, to Harry Edward Howland Jr. and Ella Marie (Worthey) Howland.

She was preceded in death by her parents and by her younger brother, Harry Edward Howland III. She is survived by a brother, Larry Howland, nieces Tina Scott and Kacy Hughey, great nephews James Howland, Jack Bejger, great nieces Amber Howland and Celestria Turner, and great-great nieces Coraline and Sophie.

In her early years the family moved to Cypress, Texas where she graduated Cy-Fair High School in 1967. She then attended Houston Baptist University, graduating with a bachelor’s degree in teaching. Donna spent the years of her life until she retired in 2010 working at Grant Road Day Care educating and caring for elementary aged children. Never having any children of her own, she spent her time loving, playing and caring for little ones.

Donna had a great passion for serving her Lord. She was a lifelong member of Cy-Fair Baptist Church and was always involved in teaching Sunday school and children’s church. She spent many years with the Builders for Christ Mission group, traveling our nation as volunteers to assist in building churches as the Lord would lead. In her retirement years, she lived with her ex-sister-in-law, Rebecca Perryman, and attended Trail of Life Cowboy Church. She never wanted to miss any activity that opened the doors and invited people to come. Donna’s bible had a true ‘sweat ring’, with notes and markings on every page. She believed with her whole heart in our Lord. Serving Him was her life.

She was never one to be in the spotlight but was always there, usually behind the camera, capturing all the people, places and things she loved so much. The many pictures she took tell that story.
She always had a soft spot for abandoned animals and cared for many during her life. Her animals fulfilled a great need in her heart. Instead of flowers, Donna would want to see donations given to local Pet Shelters to help care for abandoned animals.

Visitation will be January 13, 2020 at 9-10am and service will follow at 10 am.
