David R. Gossett, age 80, of Miamisburg, passed away Wednesday, January 8, 2020. He was born July 14, 1939 in Richmond, Indiana to the late J. Edwin and Ellen (Sanderson) Gossett.

David is survived by his wife, Sue Gossett; sister, Nancy Gossett; sons, John (Lisa) Gossett, Tom Gossett; grandchildren, Zach (Katie) Gossett, Samantha (Andy) Valentie, Lexi Gossett, Casey Gossett; as well as great-grandchildren, Ava Valentie, Zander Gossett, Myles Gossett and Dominic Valentie.

David was retired from Grange Mutual Insurance Co. He was a longtime member of the Central Presbyterian Church. David was a proud Veteran of the U.S. Navy. He was active in the following organizations: Dayton Kettering Coin Club, the Indiana Kentucky Ohio Tokens & Medals Society as well as serving as President, Secretary and Treasurer. He was also active in the Lincoln Society of Dayton serving as Membership Chairman. David had many interests and hobbies including trains, coins and history. Family was most important to him and he loved spending time with them.

Visitation will be held on Monday, January 13, 2020 from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Newcomer Centerville Chapel, 820 Miamisburg Centerville Rd. Additional visitation will be held on Tuesday January 14, 2020 from 10:00 am until time of funeral service at 11:00 am at Central Presbyterian Church 4699 Lamme Road Dayton, Ohio 45439. Burial will follow at Dayton National Cemetery.
