Sharon Grace Swanson, 73, of Homer, Nebraska died Sunday, August 19, 2018 at a local
hospital.
Services will be 11:00 Saturday, August 25, 2018 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Homer. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church. Mohr Funeral Home of South Sioux City is in charge of arrangements.
Sharon was born October 20, 1944 in Sioux City, Iowa, the daughter of Charles and Mylet (Stark) Merrill. She was raised in Sioux City, graduating from Central High School. Sharon married Roger Swanson July 23, 1966. Together they made their home in Homer, Nebraska, where Sharon remained until her passing.
Sharon was deeply involved in the community, serving as a tour guide at The O'Conner House for years. She was a member of the Extension Club, Homer Homemakers, the American Legion Auxiliary for over 40 years. Sharon was also the head librarian for years at the Village Of Homer and was a proud Avon Salesperson for over 40 years.
Survivors include her 3 children, Dan Swanson, Keith (Joanna) Swanson and Wendy Swanson; 8 grandchildren, Carissa, Madelynn, Caitlynn, Shai, Danielle, Lena, O'Shea and Carl James; and 2 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and a brother, Tim Merrill.
