Sharon Kay Conner, at age 67, went on to her eternal glory on Saturday January 4th with her friends and family by her side. Although she never gave up during her 14-month battle with bone marrow cancer, her body did not have the strength to fight for her and she succumbed to complications spurred by the disease.

Sharon was born on April 1, 1952 in Denver, Colorado. She was the 3rd of five children and the daughter to Eileen Ruth Hedlund and Kenneth Edward Mitchell. She is survived by her two adult children Adam and Audra, six grandchildren, two loving sisters, two brothers, sixteen nieces and nephews, and her large network of friends from various periods of her life. She was proceeded in death by both parents, her son Alan, as well as her brother in-law Bob Adams.

Despite the many hardships that she encountered; Sharon was not only a true fighter, but she had an amazing sense of humor! She took great pride in raising her three children. She re-entered the work force in 1993 and started off her new career as a paraprofessional, working with children. She later spent several years in the corporate world for Thompson Micromedex, where she was able to use her attention to detail and organizational skills. Her selfless nature and love for helping people led her into a final career change as a Certified Nurses Assistant, in which she chose to care for elderly clients.

While Sharon was surrounded by too many supportive people to list, we would like to give a special thank-you to the following; the medical staff of nurses and doctors at Parker Adventist Hospital, Charlotte and Denise who were as supportive as sisters could be, her daughter Audra who cared for her daily in the home, and her son Adam who was able to take her to many appointments and help her with home projects.

The most important gift that anyone who knew and loved Sharon can provide, is your presence at her Celebration of Life Cermony!
