Racine– Anthony L. Bean, age 53, affectionately known to many as “King Bean”, passed away unexpectedly, yet peacefully, at Wheaton Franciscan – All Saints Medical Center on Tuesday, December 4, 2012.

Anthony was born in Racine on October 31, 1959 to the late Jeff Bean and Musinah “Fronie (nee: Alexander) Gordon” Madyun. A graduate of Washington Park High School where he wrestled and played basketball, he went on to attend UW – Oshkosh and Gateway Technical College from where he studied to be an AODA Counselor. In addition to Anthony counseling those struggling with dependency, he was also employed by City of Racine – Public Works Department.

Among his interests, Anthony enjoyed computers and was an all-around sports enthusiast. He loved spending time with his grandkids – especially attending their school events and chaperoning field trips. Above all, he will be remembered for watching after family & friends, always placing the needs of others before his own, and enjoyed being of service to the one’s he loved.

Surviving are his children, Anton House, Sherhonda (Raymond Hamilton) Bean, Candace (Jesus Alvarez) Hall and PheAnjay Bean; grandchildren, Anton Jr., Jesus, Celicia, Celina, Kiziah, Nardarion, Keyron, Lamont, Laniyah and Leiyah; sisters and brothers, Glenda Gordon, Tina Hodges, Ada “Pat” Griffin, Rachel (Charles) Kendrick, Grady Bean, Rev. Lealon “Lee” (Tracey) Gordon, Nick Bean, Wayne Bean and Danny (Deidra) Gordon; special nephew, Leonard “Red” Gordon; special niece, Deischa (nee: Johnson) Dalton; and a host of other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents, Anthony was preceded in death by his sisters, Amelia Moore and Ernestine Walker; and brothers, Leonard and Bruce Gordon.

A Service of Homegoing will be celebrated in the Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home on Friday, December 14, 2012 at 11:00 am. Interment will follow in Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be in the funeral home on Friday from 9:00 – 11:00 am.
