Maurice A. "Moe" Johnson, 91, of Bradford, PA and formerly a longtime resident of Emporium died at Bradford Regional Medical Center, Bradford, PA surrounded by family on Saturday evening (November 9, 2019).

He was born December 5, 1927, at his parents home, in Sinnemahoning, PA a son of the late Gust and Clara Anderson Johnson. Moe began work at the age of fourteen and in his early years enjoyed rollerskating, dancing and bowling in his free time.

On August 14, 1954 in First United Methodist Church, Emporium he married the love of his life Phyllis Mowrey Johnson, who survives. Moe was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. Together, oMe and Phyllis built a house in Rich Valley but more importantly built a home where their family could thrive. They were happily married for 65 years.

Moe graduated from Emporium High School in the class of 1945. He served with the US Army and then returned to Emporium and opened the former Burjohns Repair on Second Street. He was talented in various trades such as auto mechanics, auto body work, fabrication, wood finishing and stonework. He freely gave of his time and abilities to help others with their projects. He loved a good challenge. He later worked at Sylvania for several years and then for PA Pressed Metals from which he retired after many years of employment. He had a twinkle in his eye and a hearty laugh to share with all he met. He especially cherisher the time he spent with his grandchildren. Moe was a big man with a big personality and a heart to match. He certainly left a legacy of love. Moe loved spending time with his family especially his grandchildren.

In addition to his wife he is is survived by one daughter, Lori (Keith) McKenrick, Bradford; two sons, Kevin (Linda) Johnson, Emporium and Jeffrey (Stephanie) Johnson, Minden, Nevada; four grandchildren: Adam, Eric, Cory and Jessica; three great grandchildren: Katelynn, Brooke and Zane Maurice; one sister, Mildred Burdick, Crosby.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Harry and Albert Johnson and three sisters, Jennie Godwin, Olga Wood and Alma Barnard.

Visitation will be at the Barnett Funeral Home on Monday from 4-6 PM. and on Tuesday from 1 - 2 PM. Where a Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 PM with Mr. Keith McKenrick, officiating. Burial will be in the Rich Valley Cemetery, Emporium, PA
