Mrs. Bertha Lee Nichols, wife of Elmer Nichols, died Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. in Jacksonville hospital. A daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Fred Darr, she was born in Greene County. Surviving in addition to her husband are three brothers, Herbert Darr, Alton; James Darr, Bethalto, and George Darr, Wood River, and four sisters, Mrs. Mrs. Grace Moody, East Alton; Mrs. Jennie Sloan. Godfrey, and Mrs. Cleo Graves and Mrs. Ruth McConnell, Wood River. The body is at Mehl Funeral Home where friends may call after 1 p. m. Friday. Funeral rites will be conducted Saturday at 2 p. m. (DST) by the Rev. Walter Pruelt, pastor of F i r s t Methodist Church. Burial will be in City Cemetery.
