Matthew J. Gibson, 57, of Momence, IL, died on Tuesday, January 7, 2020, at the Aperion Care in Bradley, IL. He was born on July 21, 1962, in Columbus, OH, the son of William and Jean Fridrich Gibson.

Matthew is survived by his mother, Jean Gibson of Momence, IL. Surviving are eight siblings and spouses; William (Brenda) Gibson of Dublin, OH, Mark (Nancy) Gibson of Zanesville, OH, Brian (Julie) Gibson of Prior Lake, MN, Patrick (Sandy) Gibson of Findlay, OH, Therese (Thomas) Szyszkiewicz, of Peterson, MN, Alec Gibson of Indianapolis, IN, Dana Gibson of Woodbury, MN, and Eric (Tricia) Gibson of Simi, CA. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews.

He is preceded in death by his father, William Gibson.

He was a member of the Good Shepherd Manor in Momence, IL. Matthew enjoyed keeping track of the weather, listening to music, especially classic rock and Andy Williams, watching DVD movies and cheering for The Ohio State Buckeyes football team. He also was an avid bowler for the Special Olympics.
