Phillip H. Robinson , 76, was born April 1, 1943 in Hanover County, Ashland, Virginia to the late Howard and Ethel Williams. He died January 8, 2020 At St. Mary’s hospital in Richmond, Virginia.
Phillip received his early education in the Hanover County School System and is a 1961 graduate of Gandy High School in Ashland, Virginia. He saw the importance of furthering his education at Virginia Union University in Richmond, Virginia and Saint Leo College in Saint Leo, Florida. Later, Phillip joined the United States Air Force. Overseas travels afforded him many experiences and he retired after 20 years ranking E6.
Phillip was an active member of Shiloh Baptist Church, Ashland, Virginia where he served on the Usher’s Ministry until his health declined. His interests included time with family, community volunteer for which he received Town Recognition from Ashland, Virginia, playing the guitar, listening to music, and dancing. He was a master word solver with puzzles.
Phillip’s favorite scripture was Psalm 92: 1-2:
“It is good to give thanks to the Lord, and to sing praises to your name, O Most High; to declare your lovingkindness in the morning and your faithfulness every night.
Phillip is survived by his darling wife, Betty Robinson; three children, Phillip, Jr., Michael and Michelle Robinson; one stepson, Shelton Barnes; one grandchild, Jackson Barnes; one sister, Bessie Hill (Herbert); one godson, Terrell Robinson; several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
