POLKTON - Mrs. Star Watkins Adams, 90, died Tuesday, January 7, 2020 at Autumn Care of Marshville.

Funeral services will be 2:00pm Sunday, January 12, 2020 at Sandy Plains United Methodist Church in Morven with Rev. Lonnie Grose and Rev. Larry King officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will greet friends from 6:00pm unit 8:00pm Saturday, January 11, 2020 at Leavitt Funeral Home.

Star was born August 8, 1929 in Anson County, NC, one of eight children born to the late William Luther Watkins and the late Vinnie Carpenter Watkins. She was a graduate of Ansonville High School, was retired from The Hub Restaurant in Wadesboro and a longtime member of Sandy Plains United Methodist Church.

Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Larry Wright of Polkton; her grandsons, Ashley Blalock of Albemarle, Brian Blalock (Crystal) of Polkton and Brett Blalock (Heather) of Mt. Gilead; her great-grandchildren, B.J. Blalock of Mt. Gilead, Taylor Kime (Jake) of Moreno, CA, Tony Blalock, Ray Blalock, Scarlett Blalock and Georgia Blalock all of Polkton; her great-great-grandchildren, Leah and Bo Kime of Mareno, CA; her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Bobby and Jane Adams of Wadesboro and her nieces and nephews and their families with whom she shared a special relationship with.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bonnie Eugene Adams and her sisters and brothers, Ruth Biles, Ida Pope, Marian Kearns, Rudene Beverly, Dub Watkins, Ted Watkins and Ray Watkins.

The family wishes to express their gratitude to the staff of Autumn Care for the special way they cared for Star while she was a resident there; to her roommate Lib Treadaway for being like family to her and to the staff of Hospice of Union County for taking such good care of her during her last days.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Union County, 700 W. Roosevelt Blvd., Monroe, NC 28110.
