John M. Lawrence, brother of R. D. Lawrence, of this city, died yesterday at Englewood, Ill., of consumption, age 40 years. The remains will be brought to this city today for interment. IL State Journal, Springfield, IL 9-22-1888
The remains of John M. Lawrence, brother of R. D. Lawrence of this city, who died Friday at Englewood, aged 39 years, arrived here on the Chicago & Alton yesterday. They will be interred this afternoon in Oak Ridge cemetery. Short services will be held at the grave, the funeral having been held in Englewood. Mr. Lawrence was formerly employed in the watch factory, afterward being with J. B. Hammond on the west side. He went to Englewood several years ago. IL State Register, Springfield, IL 9-23-1888
