Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Friday, January 10, 2020, at Panther Creek Baptist Church, Asheboro, with Rev. Joey Greene and Rev. Doug Huttleston officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Brandon was born on September 12, 1985, in Guilford Co. to Ronald Gray Welch and Shirley Marie Woodell Welch.
He loved baseball and was a big fan of the Atlanta Braves. He played baseball his entire childhood from four years old till he was 16. He was a big support for his community by being apart of the Boy Scouts in his youth, receiving his Eagle Scout Award in 2002, repairing all tombstones at Panther Creek Baptist Church, helping juveniles straighten out their lives by doing community service projects and keeping them out of the jail system, and doing volunteer work in both Guilford and Randolph counties as a Case Manager at the STEP Center and court counseling services. He attended RCC receiving an associate degree in Criminal Justice Technology, and pursued a bachelor degree at UNCG and Pembroke University. He loved going to the beach and the mountains with his family and loved movies.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his sister, Lindsey Welch of Asheboro and her boyfriend Justin Harvey of Greensboro; uncles, John Woodell and wife Barbara, Paul Woodell, Charles Woodell and wife Marcy, Bill Welch; aunts, Sandra Tucker and husband Roy, and Debra Welch; and several cousins.
The family will receive friends at Ridge Funeral Home from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 9, 2020.
