Mrs. Evelyn DeGroat Mills of Huguenot, NY died on Saturday, June 22, 2019 at the home of her daughter, Alice with her family by her side. She was 82. She was born May 13, 1937 in Port Jervis, NY the daughter of the late Dennis Sr. DeGroat and the late Katherine Hess DeGroat. Evelyn loved her family unconditionally. She loved to work in her yard and shopping with her sisters. She will be greatly missed as she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt.
She is survived by: Son: Michael Mills and his wife, Cindy of Sparrow Bush, NY, Daughter: Alice Buck and her husband, Alvin of Huguenot, NY, Son: Glen Mills and his wife, Christine of Moscow, PA; Brothers: Dennis DeGroat Jr. and Wellington DeGroat; Sisters: Elizabeth Conklin, Dolores Finch, and Joyce Slotko; 7 Grandchildren: Michael Mills, Michael Howell, Alvin Buck Jr., Kimberly Buck, Charles Buck, Gwen Mills, Christopher Mills; 9 Great Grandchildren.
She is predeceased by her husband Charles W. Mills Sr., son Charles W. Mills Jr. and five of her sisters, Katherine Ostrom, Jeannette Vanderveer, Helen Conklin, Nancy Jannerone, and Virginia Conklin.
Visitation will be held Monday, June 24, 2019 from 2:00pm - 4:00pm and 7:00pm - 9:00pm at Gray-Parker Funeral Home, Inc., 100 E. Main St., Port Jervis, NY 12771. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 25, 2019 at the funeral home at 10:00 am with Pastor Amy Garrett officiating. Burial will be at Rural Valley Cemetery, Cuddebackville, NY.
