Lois Elaine Lucas Hudson, age 84, of Shreveport, Louisiana passed away on Monday January 6, 2020. Lois was born January 21, 1935 to Edward Lee and Laura Carmichael Lucas in Shreveport, Louisiana. A visitation for Lois will be held Wednesday, January 8, 2020 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Trinity Heights Baptist Church, 3820 Old Mooringsport Rd, Shreveport, LA 71107, followed by a funeral service from 1:00 PM. Officiating Rev. Randy Johnson, Bro. Dan Lay. Interment will take place at Salem Cemetery in Redland, Louisiana. Honoring the family as pallbearers will be Larry Johnson, Dwayne Johnson, Pat Burroughs, Tony Vergo, Chase Davis, Calieb Hudson. Honorary Pallbearers, Leon Taylor, Sonny Snell, Mike Drummond, Bob Hudson. Lois was a devoted wife to Barrett Hudson for 65 years. They would have celebrated their 66th anniversary this March 28, 2020. She selflessly took care of Barrett, lovingly putting him before her own needs. Their marriage was truly the epitome of love. Lois was a quiet Godly women who loved her Lord and husband, and children. She worked at South Central Bell and was an Orthodontic Assistant. Her hobbies were sewing and cross-stitching but she especially loved to read and garden. Her joy was to grow something from a seed or cutting and see it grow to maturity. She also was an excellent cook. Holidays always meant her cornbread dressings and homemade rolls. Camping trips were made even better by her oatmeal cookies and fried chicken eaten at a roadside park along the way. Known as Mimi by her grandchildren and her great grandchildren she always kept cheese for them to raid from the refrigerator. Lois and Barrett loved to travel and along with the kids, would travel to Colorado every summer. They took many camping trips throughout the U.S. Starting in a little canvas tent and finally graduating to a pop-up trailer. They also cruised to Alaska and took a trip a lifetime to the Holy Land and Austria. She is proceeded in death by her parents; sisters, Grace Lucas, Doris English, Thelma Giddens, Betty Hinson, Frances Brown; grandsons, Brandon Michael Hudson, James Barrett Angle. Lois is survived by her beloved husband, Barrett Hudson; Daughters, Debbie (Larry) Johnson, Sandy (Dwayne) Johnson, Kim (Pat) Burroughs; Son, Jason (Lee) Hudson; Sister, Nelda Neuman; Nephew, Ed Gresham; Grandchildren, Heather Davis, Holly Davis, Chad Davis, Megan Cortez, Amber Cortez, Nicole Tabor, and Calieb Hudson; and five great grandchildren. Lois was a messenger of the Lord to her children and family. We are truly blessed to have had her as out Mother and Mimi.
