April Michelle Dean, 42, of Jacksonville died Sunday (January 5, 2020) at her residence. She was born in Blackshear and was a 1996 graduate of Pierce County High School. Ms. Dean lived in Waycross for several years before moving to Jacksonville in 2016 where she worked for an insurance company.

She was preceded in death by her father, Ricky Dean.

Survivors include four children, Mason Cox of Hoboken, Ethan Cox of Hoboken, Mea Cox of Hoboken, and Emiley Robertson of North Carolina; her mother and step-father, Tonja and George Waldron of Waycross; step-mother, Sandra Dean of Port Orchard, WA; one brother, Kevin Dixon and his wife Summer of Waycross; one sister, Hannah Grissom and her husband Greg of Port Orchard, WA; two step-sisters, Stacie Peeples of Brantley County and Lea Flowers of Pierce County; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and other relatives.

A funeral service will be held Friday afternoon at 3 pm at the Miles-Odum Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Blackshear City Cemetery.

The family will receive friends beginning at 1 pm at the funeral home.
