Rebecca Jane Garrett Matthews of Indianapolis, Indiana died Monday, July 23, 2007 at The Indiana Heart Hospital in Indianapolis. She was 79.
Born on September 6, 1927 in Pickett County, Tennessee, she was the daughter of Emery and Jesse (Riley) Garrett.
She married Lenard R. Matthews on October 24, 1954.
She worked as a homemaker and volunteer at Community East Hospital for 40 years. Mrs. Matthews was a member of Buck Creek Baptist Church.
Surviving her are her sons, Gary (Camille) Matthews of Oaklandon and Alan (Debbie) Matthews of Indianapolis; daughter, Pamela (Mark) Naughton of Tulsa, Oklahoma; and sister, Brenda Jean (Harold) Stockton of Livingston, Tennessee; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her parents; husband; and two brothers, Bill and Lester.
Services were Wednesday, July 25th, at Erlewein Mortuary in Greenfield, IN.
Burial: Okalona Cemetery in Livingston, Tennessee.
