In Brantley York's autobiography, he often mentions his son William assisting him, from the time William was a little boy in 1860. By 1872, William was teaching as well. Around this time, William married Mary Elizabeth Fowler (1845-1922). She was a daughter of Thomas Jefferson Fowler, and his wife Aurelia/Artelia O'Kelly.
By 1880, William had settled near Mebanesville, Orange County, and was a member of the Lebanon Church. He had also become a lawyer. In his father's autobiography it states he was a teacher, lawyer and farmer.
William and Mary Elizabeth do not appear to have had any children of their own, but they adopted Pattie P. York (1883-1941). By 1910, Theron Clement Farrell (1876-1946) was living in their household, listed as a nephew. He was a son of Mary Elizabeth's sister, Rebecca Octavia Fowler and her husband James A. Farrell.
Theron Clement Fowler and Pattie P. York were married sometime circa 1910-13. They had at least four children: James Brantley Farrell (stillborn 2 Feb. 1914), Edna Aurelia Farrell (25 Sept. 1916), Theron Clement Fowler, Jr. (30 Sept. 1918-Nov. 1967, m. Peggy Marie Williams, died in Chicago) and Mary Kerr Farrell (29 Nov. 1920).
Many thanks to "tigerpooh" who created this memorial and kindly transferred it to me, and to "Jason & Mitizie" for the tombstone photograph.
