Hannah Edwards was born on 25 September 1734 in Chester Pennsylvania, she is the daughter of John Edwards and Sibilla Pugh-Edwards.

Hannah was married first to James Massey on 27 July 1761 in Chester Pennsylvania Hannah and James were the parents of eight children

7. Tents/Tense Massey born circa 1773 married Ruth
8. William Massey born circa 1775 died before 1817

In 1764 Hannah her husband James Massey and children moved from Pennsylvania to Orange North Carolina, In Quaker records, there is a certificate for removal for Hannah and family to move from PA to NC. Both Hannah's parents had passed away and it is thought that she and her family moved to North Carolina to join her uncle Thomas Pugh and his family in North Carolina.

Hannah's husband James Massey died circa 1780 in Orange North Carolina and a few years later Hannah married a second time to Robert Ray, the couple were married on 11 July 1782 in Orange North Carolina, Robert Hunter was the Bondsman.

Hannah and Robert Ray were the parents of two children

1. Matthew Ray born circa 1783 married Jane McDaniel
2. Kassey Ray born circa 1784 died before 1817

Robert Ray made his will on 2 March 1792 it was proved a year later in February Term of 1793 so Robert Probably died in January or February of 1793 in Orange North Carolina.

Hannah Edwards-Massey-Ray made her will on 8 April 1817 it was proved in August Term of 1817 in Orange County North Carolina so Hannah passed away some time after 8 April and before August of 1817 in Orange North Carolina.
