David Cody, 68, of Pace Florida passed away on January 4, 2020 after a battle with Pancreatic Cancer.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a Daughter Virginia Dawn Cody.

He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Cheryl Cody; daughter, Carolina Cody; brother, Melvin Cody (Judy) and nephews, Dennis Cody, Danny Cody, and Anthony Cody.

David was born in Pensacola Florida August 28, 1951 and he lived most of his life in Pace. He graduated from Milton High School in 1969 and joined the US Air Force where he served in Thailand for a year working on C130A Gunships as part of the Spectra Group. He had an Associate's Degree in Small Business Management and earned a Bachelor's Degree in Aircraft Repair Facilities Management.

After 4 years in the Air Force he worked for civil service at Duke Field, Eglin AFB once again on the C130A Gunships, one of which stands on display at Eglin Air Force Base Armament Museum. He was a member of the Military Order of The Stars and Bars and was a life member in the Sons of Confederate Veterans where he received an award for placing Headstones in the local area to mark the graves of Veterans who did not have a marker. He also enjoyed communicating with other Veterans Stationed in Thailand during the Vietnam War.

A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, January 14, 2020 with visitation from 11:00 – 12:00 pm, service at 12:00 pm at Family-Funeral & Cremation, 7253 Plantation Road, Pensacola, Florida 32504. Interment will follow service at Barrancas National Cemetery.
