He is survived by his wife Melody (nee Parker) Weems; sons Shawn (Kim) McFarland of Troy, Illinois, and Chad (Julie) McFarland of Festus; grandchildren Dylan, Danielle, Autumn, Cameron, Landon, and Mabrey McFarland; and a great-granddaughter Ava McFarland.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served with the 82nd Airborne Division; and a metal spinner for the former Soundolier Corporation in Festus.

Thursday, January 9, 2020 at the funeral home, officiated by Pastor Brian Roberts, of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Pevely. Interment in Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens in Crystal City. Memorials in Doug's memory are preferred to the American Cancer Society.
