Born at home to Frank and Norma (Bishop) Splechter in Urbana, Kansas December 7, 1948. And raised in Southeast Kansas.

She Attended schools in Galesburg and Fredonia, Kansas Graduating in 1966. Further attending Mercy school of nursing in Fort Scott, Kansas graduating and attaining her nursing license in 1969.

She worked in multiple hospitals in Kansas before moving to Greeley Colorado where she worked for Northern Colorado Medical Center in the Rehabilitation Unit with multiple accreditation. Then moving to Casper Wyoming to care for her husband's aunt, and working at Wyoming Medical Center's Rehabilitation unit. Then returning to Northern Colorado after a few years within her 43-years of nursing.

Linda K. Splechter married Ronald A. Ashenfelter on July 5th 1969 in Fredonia Kansas.

She attended and was baptized in the First Baptist Church in Fort Scott, Kansas.

Linda loved to spend time with her children and grandchildren and time in the garden getting her hands dirty feeling the warmth of mother earth. Linda also loved to give back to people with her nursing by continuing to learn and achieving: CRRN certification, Orthopedic Neurology certification, CAARF accredited, was licensed to practice in Kansas, Colorado, and Wyoming which required maintaining hours of continuing education credits for re-licensure.

She was a member of ANA (American Nurses Association), NAON (National Association of Orthopedic Nurses) ARN (Association of Rehabilitation Nurses)

Linda followed her passion for nursing, while working she raised three children of her own and provided care and support of her five grandchildren while being adopted by neighboring kids as their grandmother.

Linda always supported the Susan G. Komen Foundation in the fight to find a cure for Breast Cancer.

Survived by her husband of 43 years; Ronald A. Ashenfelter Sr., her three children: Franklin J. Ashenfelter, Ronald A. Ashenfelter Jr. and Shannon M. Ashenfelter; grandchildren: Coly L. Ashenfelter, Kalie L. Ashenfelter, Jessica D. Kinzer, Darron Albert Creed Amon and Johnathon James Albert Ashenfelter; Brothers and sisters: Ruth Tate, Nancy Pollman, Francis Young, Charles Splechter, Earl Splechter, Susan Dew, Ronnie Splechter, Stacey Splechter and Tracey Joe Splechter

Her Mother Norma (Bishop) Splechter and her father Frances E. Splechter preceded Linda in death
