Ann Stewart, aged 80 years, of Poulsbo, Washington passed away on Friday, December 20, 2019, after a seven-year battle with kidney cancer. She was surrounded by family and caregivers.

Ann was born Kathryn Ann Campbell in Thomas, Oklahoma, to Hooper and Klenevie Campbell. She graduated from high school in Anthony, New Mexico, and attained a Bachelor of Arts from Hardin Simmons University in Abilene, Texas in 1961. She earned a Master of Arts in Counseling from California State University, Bakersfield in 1983. She worked as a teacher and counselor in the California State school system from 1961 until 1991.

Ann married Gene Melvin Stover in 1965, with whom she had two sons. After divorcing Gene, she married Wes Stewart in 1985. After retiring from the California State school system, Wes and Ann worked as educators in Saudi Arabia for seven years. They settled in Poulsbo in 2005.

Ann was a devoted mother, and always valued her connections with others. Throughout her life, she strived to do as much as she could for those around her. Her constant care for others will be missed.

Ann is survived by son Gene Michael Stover of Seattle, son Jason Hooper Stover of Baltimore, daughter-in-law Karen Bendersky of Baltimore, and many friends she made throughout her life.
