Agnes was a daughter of George Henry and Catherine M (nee Bond) Payne.
Agnes married Charles Benjamin Knott on 26 December 1929 in St. Mary's County, Maryland. They had 5 children; Theresa Kay (Hutching), Benjamin Alfred, Joseph Leroy, David Leon and Margaret (Gerhke or Geahke).

Agnes Payne Knott, a lifetime resident of St. Mary's County, died at St. Mary's Hospital Saturday. She was 57 years old.
Mrs. Knott had been employed at King's Shoporama in Lexington Park.
She was the wife of the late Charles Benjamin Knott. Surviving are two daughters, Theresa Kay Hutching of Springfield, Va., and Margaret K. Geahke of Cary, Ill., two sons, Benjamin Alfred Knott of Great Mills and David L. Knott of Drayden; three sisters, Mrs. Alvin Goddard of Drayden, Mrs. Robert Guy of Loveville and Mrs. Martha Dyer of Baltimore, and four grandchildren.
The Ladies of Charity said the Rosary for Mrs. Knott 7:30 p.m. Sunday at the Mattingley Funeral Home with family prayers following at 8 p.m. A Requiem Mass was offered at 10 a.m. Monday at St. George's Catholic Church, Valley Lee. Burial followed in the church cemetery.

Can find no information regarding Margaret. She is not listed on the census, is never listed in any of the siblings obits and cannot find a phone directory listing. The search continues.
