Brett Nicholas Stuart, 21, of Danville passed away Monday evening, Dec. 30, 2019.

Born in Danville, April 6, 1998, he was the son of Eric and Angela (Babula) Stuart and was a member of St. Joseph R.C. Church, Danville.

Here he attended Catholic school from fourth to eighth grade and served as an altar boy. Brett was a 2016 graduate of Danville High School and was enrolled at Mansfield University where he was studying criminal justice. He planned to follow his dad’s lead and enter a career in corrections. Currently he was employed at Perkins Restaurant in Danville and was training to be restaurant manager.

Brett had always been active in sports, participating in Little League and football. He continued his football career at Mansfield where he was proud to be a member of the “D1” Sprint league. He was a talented cook. He loved to be outdoors hunting, fishing and skiing with family. He was an advocate for family movie nights and spent lots of time playing his favorite games on Xbox. His passion to put absolutely anyone before himself and help those in need is an inspiration that has touched many hearts.

Preceding him in death is his maternal grandmother, Marie E. Babula.

Surviving, in addition to his parents, are his sister Lauren Stuart; maternal grandfather, John Babula, of Sugarloaf; paternal grandparents, Michael and Diane Stuart of Hornell, N.Y.; aunt, Kimberly Babula of Lykens; aunt and uncle, Jonene and Anthony Chomiszewski III of Millersburg; uncle, Kevin Stuart and his spouse of Hornell, N.Y.; and six cousins.

Friends and family are invited to the Roat-Kriner Funeral Home, 1133 Bloom Road, Danville, on Thursday evening for a viewing period which will be from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m.

Friends and family are also invited to gather Friday morning at the St. Joseph R.C. Church, 68 Center St., Danville, for a Mass of Christian Burial that will begin at 10 a.m. Father Timothy D. Marcoe will celebrate the mass. Burial will follow in the Calvary Cemetery, Drums.
