Gary Duane Bogle, 73, of DeKalb, Illinois passed away Friday, October 30, 2015, at Kishwaukee Hospital. He was born March 11, 1942, in DeKalb and was the son of Wayne E. and Lois (Anderson) Bogle. Gary served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was an inspector for Barber Greene, AGCO and Caterpillar for over 40 years. Gary was also a 3rd generation Wallpaper hanger. He married Mary Frances Norton on October 29, 1963, in Greeneville, Tennessee, they just celebrated 52 wonderful years of marriage. Gary was a loving husband, father and doting grandfather and great-grandfather. He was so proud of his son and grandsons being Eagle Scouts. He was an assistant Scout Master and he was also an Order of the Arrow member. He enjoyed fishing at Star Lake in Minnesota where he was baptized. Gary was a great story teller, he loved animals and he loved genealogy. He was a 32nd Degree Free Mason and a Shriner.
Survivors include wife, Mary of DeKalb; daughter, Valerie Bogle of DeKalb; and son, Steve (Pam) Bogle of Sycamore. Two grandsons, Christopher Bogle and Charles (Ashley) Kidd; and two great granddaughters, Hailey and Maycee Kidd. Six siblings, Jerry (Nila) Bogle, Bruce (Carlene) Bogle, Robert (Holly) Bogle, Sandi (Bill) Coulter, Colleen (Al) Kissane, and Brian (Nancy) Bogle. A special aunt Nannie (John) Schwickerath for introducing Gary to Mary Frances the love of his life. Three beloved dogs, Peanut, Hollea, and Scarlett; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Jeffrey.
A celebration of Gary's life will be held at a later date. Cremation will take place at Finch Crematory. Memorials can be made to the family to be established at a later date.
