Dennis Barrett, 78, of Terre Haute, died Thursday, January 2, 2020. He was born June 4, 1941 in Terre Haute to John “Jay” Barrett and Margaret Minar Barrett.
Surviving Dennis is his wife of 53 years, Mary Ann Barrett; his children, Stephanie Barrett (Troy), and Brian Barrett (Dottie); grandchildren, Danielle Hunt (C.J.), Amber Sparks (John), Chassidy Barrett, Corey Grigsby, Collins Grigsby, Capone Grigsby, and Creta Grigsby; and great-grandchildren, Bradan, Abigail, Mia, Italy, Caiden, Cole, and Cash. Also surviving are his sisters, Rose Patterson and Teresa French; three very close family friends, Cierra Baker, Shaud Brown, and Darious Webb, and many nieces and nephews.
Dennis was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Denise M. Barrett; brothers, John “Jay” Barrett and Joe Barrett; and his sister, Mary Barrett.
Dennis was a hard worker, devout Catholic, and proud Irishman. He loved his family and time spent with them.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, January 7, 2020 at 1:00 pm at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 113 S 5th St., Terre Haute, with Fr. Dan Bedel officiating. Visitation will be held on Monday from 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm at Callahan & Hughes Funeral Home. Entombment at Calvary Cemetery will follow Mass
