Stella Elizabeth (Griffaw) Patterson, 84, of Portage, Michigan, passed away at Tendercare of Portage on Monday, July 29, 2013, after a very brave and lengthy battle with kidney failure.
Leaving to treasure her never ending sweetness and precious memories are her loving husband, Elvis “Pat” Patterson, her daughters, Judy (Jim) MacPhee, and Fay Rodgers (Mike) Mero; her sons, Mike and Gary Patterson; grandchildren, Kimberly MacPhee, Stephanie (Jeff) Wojcik, Wesley (Mandy) Rodgers; her great-grandchildren, Sara Rodgers, Madelyn and Natalie Wojcik; and two sisters, Mary Amos and Delores Foster. She was preceded in death by her grandson, Jeff Rodgers.
Our Family would like to extend our sincere, heartfelt thank you to those at Tendercare who gave her such love and compassion during her lengthy stay and to the professional and caring staff at Kalamazoo East Fresenius Medical Care. You will always be remembered.
A private family service was held Wednesday, July 31, 2013 at Mt. Ever-Rest Memorial Park, officiated by Fr. Stanley Witek of Saint Catherine of Siena Catholic Church. A memorial mass for Stella will be offered during the 11:15 a.m. mass on Sunday, August 11, 2013 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 936 Lake St., Kalamazoo, MI 49001.
Those who wish may make a memorial contribution to Hospice Care of Southwest Michigan, Fresenius Medical Care or the American Diabetes Association.
