H.B. (SANDY) STANALAND
H.B. (Sandy) Stanaland, 63, died at 3:30 p.m., Thursday following heart surgery in a Lubbock hospital.
Services will be at 2:30 p.m., Saturday in the Nalley Pickle Rosewood Chapel here. Officiating will be Eugene Cardinal, former minister of the Birdwell Lane Church of Christ. Mr. Stanaland was a long-time member of that church. Burial will follow in Trinity Memorial Park.
He was born Oct. 21, 1914, in Tuscola, Tex. He married Miss Alberta Hyso July 7, 1939. in Abilene.
He moved to Big Spring in 1946 and for many years was associated with local car dealerships as service manager. He was manager of the Bill Wilson Oil Co., at the time of his death.
Survivors include his wife, of the home; two sons, Dale Stanaland, Midland, and Lynn Stanaland, Dallas; a daughter, Mrs. Susan Barry, San Antonio; and three granddaughters.
Also surviving are four sisters, Mrs. Ruby Van Cleeve, El Paso, Mrs. Millie Graham, Perryton, Mrs. Naomi Vaughan, Abilene, and Mrs. Lorena Crocker, Texico, N.M.; and a brother, S.L. Stanaland, Abilene.
Pallbearers will be Tom Gum, Bill Wilson, Jerry Price, Virgil Bennett, Howard Sherrill and Charley Hedgcoth.
