She was the daughter of John and Harriett (Quick) Little.

Clara attended the Bee Branch one room country school until she was 16 and then went to the (Teachers Collage) Normal school at Warrensburg. She then taught one term of school. She did not like that, so she went to Kansas City to nursing school and became a nurse.

'Edgewood' the beautiful country home of Mr. and Mrs. John Little, was the scene of gay festivity on Thursday evening, February 21st, when their daughter, Clara Belva, was united in marriage with Mr. Clarence Henry Ruckel. At 8 o'clock Rev. T.J. Clagett, of the Presbyterian of this city, spoke the solemn and impressive words which united these two hearts for life's journey.

After congratulations the bridal pair led the guests to the dining room where an elegant supper was in readiness, the table fairly loaded with rich viands. The menu consisted of roasted turkey with chestnut dressing, escalloped oysters, jellies, creamed potatoes, peas, salmon salad, celery, olives, pickles, cheese, bananas, strawberries, ice cream and assorted cakes, candies, tea and coffee. The table was tastily decorated with pink carnations, smilax and fern.

The bride was becomingly gowned in a costume of gray silk with applique trimmings. The groom looked handsome in the conventional black.

The guests included only relatives and intimate friends, about thirty in number.

The love and esteem in which this couple is held is attested by the number of valuable gifts bestowed upon them by admiring friends. They are at home at the Vaughan farm west of this city, which the groom recently bought.

It is a pleasure to chronicle the marriage of two worthy young people, and the 'News' wafts to them its warmest congratulations."

Clara was a loving wife and mother, a very good cook and a wonderful gardener.
