She attended school in St. Lucas, graduating in 1950 from St. Luke's High School.
Upon graduation, Agnes moved to Des Moines, IA, working as a credit report clerk for Iowa Home Mutual. She returned to NE Iowa, and met her future husband, Vernon A. Bohr, when he came into the Calmar State Bank to cash a check at her teller window. Agnes and Vernon were united in marriage on October 27, 1956, at St. Luke's Church in St. Lucas, IA.
Agnes and Vernon purchased their farm, northeast of Cresco, IA, in 1959. There, they farmed, raised four children, and Agnes kept meticulous books for their fertilizer business. Agnes moved to town (Cresco) in 2008, and loved being able to go out and about any time she wished.
A member of the Howard County Historical Society, American Legion Auxiliary, Evans Home Auxiliary, Regional Health Services of Howard County Auxillary, Notre Dame Sewing Ladies, Notre Dame Circles of Faith, and Notre Dame Stewardship Committee, Agnes was highly involved in her community. Agnes volunteered for Meals on Wheels, sewed pants for wounded soldiers, was a Pink Lady, sold Buddy Poppies, placed flags at the cemetery for Memorial Day, sewed cloth diapers for layettes and lap robes for those in need, and served as treasurer of her condo homeowner's association. She liked to garden and work with perennials. Tulips were some of her very favorite flowers. Her other main hobby was quilting, in which Agnes very much enjoyed attending classes and workshops, piecing many beautiful quilts.
Agnes enjoyed family. She was very proud of all her children and grandchildren. She looked forward to time spent with them. The most recent family road trip to Yellowstone National Park was a highlight for her.
Agnes was dearly loved and will be dearly missed. She touched so many people throughout her life and left her children with many memories and a REALLY good Angel Food cake recipe.

Agnes was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon; one son, Michael, in infancy; her parents; three sisters: Mary in infancy, Florence Manderfield and Frances Thole; and one brother, Robert Mihm.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held at Notre Dame Catholic Church. Burial in Calvary Cemetery Cresco.
