Linda (Mackey) Chance, 72, of DeRidder, LA, passed from this life on Friday, January 3, 2020, at her home in DeRidder, LA.
Linda, the daughter of John and Mae Arnold was born on May 30, 1947 in DeRidder, LA.
Visitation will begin Tuesday, January 7, 2020, from 11 AM until Funeral Service begins at 1:00 PM, Labby Memorial Funeral Home in DeRidder, LA with Bro. Robert “Bobby” Thompson officiating.
She married John David Mackey on June 11, 1971, and they had three children. They were married for 19 years when he passed away.
Linda retired from Civil Service Position at Fort Polk after working there for over 30 years. She loved cooking, traveling, and especially enjoyed spending time with her family. She was a lifetime member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.
Left to cherish her memory are her two daughters, Sheila Crossley and husband, Colin of DeRidder, LA., Annda Purdue and husband, Jay of DeRidder, LA; son-in-law, Harley Johnson of DeRidder, LA; grandchildren, Jasmin Crossley of Avon, IN, Nikki Crossley of New Zealand, Caysee Purdue of Lebanon, IN and Kamryn Purdue of DeRidder, LA; one great-grandson, Finnley Crossley; one sister, Mary Sampson of Tipton, IN; nephews, Paul Sampson, Daniel Sampson, and Jonathon Sampson.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Mackey; her parents John and Mae Arnold, her brother, John Clifford Arnold, her daughter, Johnda Johnson.
The family wishes to thank Heart of Hospice, in particular Amy and Ashley, and her caregiver, Chellie Gill, who took great care of her during her final days.
