Donald Eugene Nelson, 73, of Park Hills, MO passed away September 18, 2019 at his residence due to cancer from Agent Orange. He was born August 30, 1946 in Elvins, MO.
Preceded in death by his parents: Ray V. Nelson and Agnes Marie (Ziegelmeyer) Nelson and brother-Robert Miller Nelson.
Survived by: His wife, LaDonna (DeGrant) Nelson; Son, David Nelson and wife Michelle; two Daughters, Cheryl Burtle and husband Ron, Christal Nelson Reeves and husband Jason; Grandchildren, Alex and wife Stevie Nelson, Natalie, Zachary, Andrew, Matthew, and Lydia Nelson, Addison and Ryan Burtle, Conner and Collin Hardy, Brooke, Chloe and Mackenzie Reeves; Great Grandson on the way; Brother, Vernon Nelson; two sisters, Carolyn Mercer and Mary Lee Merritt; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends also survive.
Member of Immaculate Conception Parish, Member of the Knights of Columbus #11882, Member of the 4th Infantry Division, Assoc. Member of VFW post #5741, Member of Disabled American Veterans, also the America Legion.
Visitation Sunday, September 22, 2019, at Horton-Wampler Funeral Home from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Funeral Service Monday, September 23, 2019, at 10 a.m. at the Immaculate Conception Parish with Father Mark Ebert.
Burial at Immaculate Conception Catholic Cemetery.
There will be a VFW service and prayer service Sunday evening.
